WELCOME TO NEAR

Near exists to come alongside spiritually hungry people, helping them encounter God’s presence in the everyday rhythms of life.

In a world filled with noise, hurry, and competing voices, it can be easy to lose our awareness of the One who is already present.

God is nearer than you think.

We often miss God’s nearness not because He is absent, but because our lives have become crowded.

Life can become so busy.

There are responsibilities to carry, decisions to make, people who need us, and an endless stream of voices competing for our attention.

Over time, the noise can drain our spirits and make it increasingly difficult to recognize the quiet voice of God.

Yet God is always near.

He is not waiting only in the extraordinary or dramatic moments of life. He meets us in the ordinary—in Scripture and prayer, in worship and stillness, in seasons of waiting, in moments of gratitude, and in the simple rhythms of each new day.

Near is an invitation to pause, turn our attention toward the Lord, and learn again to recognize His presence and hear His voice.

Following Jesus is more than something
we do at a weekly church service.

It is a life lived with Him—day by day,
moment by moment.

The New Book from Near

Near

GOD IS NEARER THAN YOU THINK

What if God is not far away, but nearer than you think?

Near is a journey into the love, faithfulness, guidance, rest, strength, beauty, and blessing of God—woven together with Scripture, personal reflection, and the hymns and songs that have helped shape a lifetime of faith.

Through these meditations, you are invited to slow down, set your gaze upon Jesus, and become more attentive to the presence of the God who is already near.

Along the way, the book invites you not only to read, but also to listen, reflect, and respond through accompanying piano meditations and simple practices for everyday life.

A Life lived aware of God’s presence

As we learn to recognize God’s nearness and respond to His voice, something begins to change within us.

We become less driven by hurry and distraction, more grounded in the presence of Jesus, and more able to walk through each day with a settled confidence that we are not alone.

Peace

A growing ability to rest in God’s presence, even when life is uncertain or demanding.

His peace does not depend upon everything around us being settled. It grows as we learn to set our hearts upon Him and trust that He is near.

Purpose

A clearer awareness that God is present and active in the ordinary details of life.

As we learn to hear His voice and follow His leading, even the simplest moments can become part of a life lived with intention, obedience, and meaning.

Following Jesus is more than something we do at a weekly church service.

It is a life lived with Him—
day by day, moment by moment.

Passion

A renewed joy in knowing Jesus and walking with Him throughout the day.

Not merely going through the motions of faith, but living with a heart increasingly alive to His love, His goodness, and His presence.

From Near

Drawing Near Through the Word

What if Scripture is more than words on a page?

We open the Bible not only to gain information, but to encounter the living God—to hear the Shepherd’s voice, receive light for the next faithful step, and allow His Word to shape the way we live.

In a world filled with competing voices, Scripture helps us recognize the voice of Jesus—truthful, gracious, wise, and full of peace.

A Time to Come Away

Sometimes we need more than words.

Near piano meditations create space to slow down, quiet the noise, and become attentive to the presence of God.

Through familiar hymns, worship songs, Scripture, and moments of stillness, these meditations invite you to pray, reflect, and simply rest in the presence of the Lord.

Take a few moments.
Breathe.
Listen.
And remember—God is near.

The Story Behind Near

Near grew out of a simple but deepening conviction: God is near, and much of the spiritual life is learning to live awake to His presence.

Through years of ministry, Scripture, music, prayer, and the ordinary joys and challenges of life, I have become increasingly aware that God often meets us not only in dramatic moments, but in the quiet rhythms of everyday life.

As a pastor, pianist, and writer, Near was born from a desire to help people slow down, listen, and become more attentive to the presence of Jesus in those everyday places.

My hope is that these reflections, piano meditations, and simple practices will encourage you to walk with Him with greater awareness, trust, and joy—day by day, moment by moment.
